Westport Library hosts first festival of music, media and more

Westport Library will host its first three-day VersoFest 2022 festival and conference, April 8-10.

The event will offer creatives, artists and fans the opportunity to explore music and media in a unique environment. There is a bagel brunch on April 10.

It is an extension of Verso Studios, a media production and resource center that serves as a cultural and learning center.

The library is located at 20 Jesup Road in Westport.

The Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce is co-producing the three concerts at the event. The WPKN radio station and the 06880 magazine are the media sponsors.

Tickets on sale for five Westport Country Playhouse productions

Single tickets are on sale now for the 2022 Westport Country Playhouse season starting at $30.

The historic theater is in its 91st year of productions.

Playhouse’s 2022 season will run from April 5 through October 30 and will include five productions: “Next to Normal,” “Straight White Men,” “Kim’s Convenience,” “4000 Miles,” and “Mississippi Delight.”

Art Museum Announces 2022 Music at MoCA Concert Series

Tickets are on sale for MoCA Westport’s recently announced Music at MoCA concert series, which begins March 25 and runs through November.

The concerts will take place both in the art museum and on the site’s outdoor stage. There is also a streaming option.

People can purchase a season pass for all 12 concerts, individual tickets, or create their own package by choosing at least four shows to attend. Tickets also include admission to the museum.

Food and beverages, including alcoholic beverages, will be available for purchase at each concert. Participants should bring lawn chairs to all outdoor concerts they attend. In case of bad weather, all outdoor concerts will take place inside the art museum.

Speak to Focus on COVID’s Impact on Anxiety

NAMI Southwest Connecticut, the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is hosting a virtual presentation “Managing Threat in the Age of Anxiety: Psychological Impact of COVID on Teens.”

It will take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday via Zoom.

The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required in advance at namisouthwestct.org.

Speakers include Dan Villiers, Ph.D., and Orla Cashman, Ph.D., LCSW from the Anxiety Institute.

Ballerina at the center of the Women’s History Month event

Ballet dancer Tanaquil “Tanny” Le Clercq will be the center of a Women’s History Month lecture and book signing at 3 p.m. on March 26 at the Weston Public Library, 56 Norfield Road.

She was also the muse and last wife of choreographer George Balanchine, and a longtime summer resident of Weston. His new biography is “Dancing Past the Light: The Life of Tanaquil Le Clercq”.

The Friends of Weston Public Library, the League of Women Voters of Weston and the Weston Historical Society are sponsoring the event.

A group of companies organizes a day of virtual visitors

The Westport Business Networking International, BNI, Chapter is hosting a Virtual Visitors Day on Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m.

The networking group is made up of business professionals and is looking for new members in certain business categories.
