Thousands Gather at Greek Day on Broadway Festival After COVID Disruption – BC

Thousands of people gathered for the long-awaited return of Greek Day to Broadway, after the festival was canceled for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kitsilano Street was full of food vendors, clothing vendors, live music and people dancing in the street.

“Greek Days are back. People came out in full force, being Greek for a day. Lots of celebrations,” said Vancouver City Councilor Sarah Kirby-Yung.

“I think people are very grateful to have festivals and events again.”

Festival attendees were thrilled that the community event was back.

“I lived in Kitsilano, I spent all my days at UBC renting in Kitsilano, it’s fabulous to be back here,” said Adriane Carr, another Vancouver city councilor. “It’s such a community event.”

Festival events run until approximately 5:30 p.m.
