Spotify and Roblox create a music-themed metaverse

Roblox has become much more colorful!

Roblox, an online game creation system and gaming platform has received its own Spotify Metaverse. As announced via Twitter, players will be able to discover a festive island filled with activities and places to explore!

Below in the Twitter feed, you’ll see clips from the island giving Roblox players a brief look at the collaborative project.

There’s a massive main stage for partying with friends, a Mario-esque rainbow road, a beatmaker station, and scattered hearts that let you unlock unique items. When you want to boogie, turn off the lights to experience the world in a groovy neon night mode.

There will be a Discord server where you can connect with other players, a K-Pop island, dubbed K-Park with a surprise appearance from super sweet K-Pop star #SUNMI and Stray Kids. To already get you in the groove, you can listen to the Roblox Island Spotify playlist.

Spotify will fill its digital space with exciting mini-quests, virtual artist meet-and-greets, and a host of other exclusive content, for example, paid merchandise that will go directly to artists. The game-within-a-game concept is very similar to what Facebook is offering with its Meta rebranding. You could say that it is no coincidence that game companies such as Roblox are doing something similar.

I’m not surprised to see a K-Pop Island on Spotify as the genre itself has garnered massive attention and huge successes around the world. K-pop bands have hijacked genres, blending elements of rock, bass house, trap and hip hop into a single front led by a group of edgy-looking e-boys/e-girls .

It seems like new K-pop groups are coming every year. Is it good? Listen to Wa Da Da by Kep1er or Freeze by Stray Kids and let us know what you think!
