Kenny Chesney brought the house down with his closing number at the 2022 CMT Music Awards, topping the nostalgic hit “Beer In Mexico.”
Serving as a teaser of the fun that awaits country fans as the summer touring season rolls around, the legendary “King of the Road” simply did what he does best. The hitmaker and stadium-filling superstar scored his 34th number one with “Knowing You” at the end of 2021, and is currently gearing up for his long-delayed return to touring. Kicking off later this month, his Here and Now 2022 tour marks Chesney’s first tour in more than three years – since before the pandemic began – and his performance at the CMT Music Awards was a preview of what he had. foreseen. The 2022 CMT Music Awards aired live from Nashville on CBS, marking the first time the genre’s only fan-voted awards show has aired on network television.
