Ayushmann Khurrana talks about his grandfather’s role in instilling passion for music

Apart from being a famous actor, Ayushmann Khurrana is also a versatile singer. And without a second thought, he pays homage to his grandmother for having made him fall in love with music.

“I’ve loved music since I was a kid and it’s almost like a language to me. I think it comes from my grandmother (grandmother). She was like an encyclopedia on movies and loved all kinds music. Likewise, I have the perfect song for every occasion in my head and I really love discovering more songs. I’m constantly on the lookout for new music in all genres. I also love music from different languages,” he shared.

Ayushmann’s grandfather used to sing in a Gurdwara and his father played the flute. Music is definitely in Ayushmann’s family.

In one of the old interviews, he said: “I grew up listening to retro music, 90s tracks, ghazals and Sufi music. I remember one night when we bought a car in 1988, my family spent the whole night in it, listening to the ghazals of Ghulam Ali. In the morning, the car battery was dead.

Ayushmann has captivated fans with soulful songs such as “Paani Da Rang”, “Nazm Nazm”, “Saadi Galli Aaja”, “Mitti Di Khushboo” and “Chan Kitthan” over the years.

On World Music Day 2022 on June 21, Ayushmann revealed that people can expect some really great singles coming from him soon.

“Ever since I started making music, I’ve longed to usher in a different sound for people. I’ve tried to take that journey every time I’ve sung. I want my musical identity to be without effort, new era, slightly quirky but cool, melodious and always youthful. Today I’m really excited to share that I’ve worked on some really great tracks that I can’t wait to share.” -he shares.

He added, “Music has always been my best friend. I’ve always maintained that I’m happiest when I express myself through music and look forward to talking to people and baring my heart. and my soul with these new songs. The microphone has It’s been my companion since my school days – it’s accompanied me through every stage of my life. So I’m really going to pour myself out this time with these new songs that are coming.”

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Ayushmann will next be seen in Anubhuti Kashyap’s Doctor G and filmmaker Aanand L. Rai’s Action Hero, directed by debutant Anirudh Iyer.

Speaking about his upcoming films, Ayushmann had earlier said, “I hope to have an incredibly exciting year in cinema because I have very diverse films coming out in 2022. I have always sought to select projects that come out of the cinema. ‘ordinary and I’m confident I’m bringing the best content I can find for audiences to watch and enjoy on the big screen.”

On “Doctor G” and “Action Hero,” Ayushmann revealed that the former deals with a “subject that will make people think about an important social issue told in the most entertaining way.”

He said the other film is “super fresh, goofy and quirky”. “I loved exploring this genre for the first time and I know we have a product that will engage and intrigue moviegoers across India.” Overall, I am excited about the year ahead and want to provide audiences with quality entertainment with the latest content that is new to the big screen,” concluded Ayushmann.
